Rules and Requirements
This list is a list of all the Rules and Requirements. Those who have signed up to the forums and filled in their application forms will be updated if this list is amended or changed in any way - if there are any drastic changes, will be asked to agree to them again.
- All riders must be aged 18 or over.
- All riders must have a full UK Driving Licence.
- All riders must have a UK Passport.
- Insurance is required, but is included in the cost of the trek.
- You are not allowed to bring your quad bike.
- You may use the footage from the cameras and filming equipment for anything you wish as long as it is non-profit. If you want to use it commercially, you need to contact us.
- You are not permitted to carry any other filming or photographic equipment with you without prior written permission (state on application form) than you are given.
- Some countries do not allowing filming or photographs of certain places (e.g. military establishments, airports, Government buildings etc.). You will be notified of this during the trek and requested to turn all equipment off. The consequences could be severe!
- Travel and medical insurance is included in the cost.
- You should be physically fit. Able to run, jump and RIDE!
- You are required to get all your vaccinations done atleast 2 months prior to the trek. You will be given a list of all the required vaccinations. A certificate/statement of these should be obtained and kept with you at all times. The fee is recoverable from us on producing the receipt or invoice.
- Every 1 in 5 quads will be equipped with a fire extinguisher.
- Every quad bike will be equipped with a first aid kit.
- The trek cost includes an off road quad course. This is advisable to take advantage of. It is not a pass or fail - just makes sure that the journey will be for you! It will consist of a day on a track in the UK.
- The trek cost includes a First Aid course. It is not a requirement to pass the course. Just as long as you know and learn the basics of first aid in the field! Let us know if you are already qualified!
- Weapons of any sort are not permitted. You may be searched at any border and consequences of carrying a weapon could be severe.
- All equipment supplied to you (Filming equipment, recording equipment, fire extinguishers, medical kits, radio equipment) is supplied 'on loan'. They can be purchased for a small fee (a lot lower than the RRP) after the event with the amounts going to charity. Do not worry if you lose or break them!
- (Modified 18/01/2008) Drugs are NOT permitted on any part of the trek. Not only will you put yourself and others at risk, but the consequences of being in possession of drugs (apart from medical ones - with a letter from your doctor if required) could be severe if you are caught. Do not turn a trip of a lifetime into your last one...
- (Modified 18/01/2008) Alcohol is not permitted on the quad bikes or 4x4s, and definately not permitted before riding the quad bikes (that's right, NO drink riding!). There will be plenty of times when we stop (especially for Christmas and New Years!) to have a few and be merry. But remember, the next day you could be back on the road - so the key is to control it and not over do it.
