  1. How much goes to charity? (Modified 29/03/2008)
Own aim is split £30,000 amongst the charities. Click here for more details.

  2. Do I need a full drivers licence?
Yes, a UK one at that.

  3. How old do I need to be?
Atleast 18 (due to insurance), no maximum age.

  4. Do I need to supply my own quad?
No, we supply one for you.

  5. Can I take my own quad bike?
Unfortunately not. We want to keep all quad bikes the same to avoid carrying excessive amounts of spares - and also to reduce paperwork too.

  6. How long is the trek? (Modified 29/03/2008)
Mileage is estimated at 35,000 miles. To take 4 and a half months.

  7. Will I be eaten by Lions?
We travel as a group, so most animals should stay away. But we will have the manpower to hand just in case!

  8. What happens if I break down? (Modified 18/01/2008)
There will be enough people with experience to help fix the problem, there will also be plenty of spares too. If all else fails - you can hitch a lift in the support vehicles until your quad bike is repaired.

  9. What if I feel sick, drowsy or break a leg or 2?
Everyone goes on a First Aid course beforehand (if they haven't already). It is not compulsory to pass it but it will help you, and everyone else on the trek! Insurance will cover you for the worst scenario, so you will be flown back to the UK for treatment. But this shouldn't need to happen!

  10. What happens if my quad or myself catches fire?
There will be fire extinguishers on atleast 2 of the quad bikes and in the 4x4s too. So this will not be a problem. We would then take action to repair it.

  11. Theres a place I really want to visit...
Let us know - it might already be on route, if not - we may be able to organize it!

  12. Can I carry a passenger? (Modified 18/01/2008)
Unfortunately, no. To cut the costs down and to make it easier on administration we have kept it to the one seater. The cost saving is huge too! Also, it would be rather uncomfy with someone on the back for 35,000 miles over rough terrain and intense heat.

  13. Do I need a International Drivers Permit?
Yes, this is included in the cost.

  14. I'm scared!
A lot of people are, it's the whole fun of it!

  15. What if a problem arises at home and I need to drop out during the trek?
Talk to one of the staff. We may be able to organize an emergency flight home.

  16. What vaccinations do I need?
Click Here to download the vaccination form (PDF file)

  17. Will I be riding non stop each day?
No, we ride for a maximum of 8 hours per day, with 20 minutes break for every 2 hours spent riding.

  19. What happens if I can not raise the money in time? (Modified 29/03/2008)
This will not be a problem, our new policy is that we will not leave until everyone on the team is ready and we have enough funding for everyone to go. So there is plenty of time to raise the funding!
